About the Author
Camille E. Peay was born in 1957, in Savannah, Georgia to unwed teenage parents. She is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta and a former Peace Corps volunteer in Liberia, West Africa. Camille is the former publisher and editor of Bottles & Bookbags, a newsletter for teenage parents which she and her husband, Michael, began in 1994. She earned an M.A. in Counseling in 2005 from Webster University. Currently, she serves as an Adolescent Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinician in Columbia, South Carolina.
Articles regarding Camille’s work have been featured in noted newspapers and magazines including The Atlanta Journal Constitution and Family Circle.
Camille is a member of Faith Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church where her husband is the pastor. She lives in Columbia with her husband and three children, Miranda, Michael, Jr. and Caitlin.
